Special Metal was founded in 1981 as company specialised in the separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals starting from recycling components such as starting motors, automotive alternators, electric motors for civil and industrial application, civil and industrial electrical wires.
At that time, the separation of all the materials was done by hand due to the lack of specific machinery and equipment for automatic separation of the various metal alloys (iron, aluminium, copper etc.).
Years of study and experience have made it possible for Special Metal to know how to treat the products and how to turn equipment not specifically designed for processing alloys into automated shredding and separation machines.

A fundamental step was made in the year 2000 with the birth of Special Metal Costruzioni Meccaniche which made it possible for our company to become a leader in recycling and disposing of alloys.
